Thank you
You filled the streets. Riders, walkers, families, classmates, neighbors and people who never even met Sasha. Thank you to all those who volunteered, both in advance and the day-of, to the youth ambassadors and to the generous Ride for Your Life sponsors. This powerful event happened because of the incredible partnerships forged between the Ride for Your Life, Wisconsin Bike Fed and Madison Bikes. Read or watch coverage from the day.
What happens next
The rally was the beginning, not the end. The bill that would stop super speeders will carry Sasha’s name in the 2027 legislative session, and Representative Russell Goodwin — who authored this session’s version — has committed to carrying it forward. Turning that into law will take the same number of people who showed up on October 4. Learn more about Stop Super Speeders.
Tell your legislators
Sasha should be here today. AB 655 / SB 659 would let judges require GPS-enabled intelligent speed devices in the cars of drivers found guilty of reckless driving or repeated or extreme speeding. Ask your state senator and representative to support it. Find out who represents you.

Safe Streets for Sasha
Sasha Rosen was a seventeen-year-old son, cousin, nephew, and beloved friend. He was a goofy, music-loving, video-game-playing, baggy-pants-wearing, espresso-drinking high school senior who could talk equally about rap music and U.S. politics. His life was senselessly taken by an act of traffic violence.
We Honor Sasha Through Action
Speak
No one should be killed crossing the street to catch the school bus.
The Madison Transportation Commission needs to hear your voice about safety concerns on Park Street. Our goal is to have 5 people speak at each bi-weekly meeting throughout 2026. Once registered, you would have three minutes to speak. Click here for more details on signing up.
Write
Your words matter.
Find a sample message here that you can use to advocate for safety measures to end violence. The same message can be shared with the Mayor's Office, your Common Council Alder, your municipal leaders (Mayor, City Council, Neighborhood Commissioner, etc.), WI DOT Div of Transportation System (Park St is a state road).
Request
When safe speed limits enforced, lives are saved.
Submit requests for safety improvements on Park Street here. Please prioritize 'traffic signals' and 'speeding issues'.
Commit
Make a personal commitment to drive safely.
Remind those around you to practice safe and responsible driving habits.
We also encourage donations in Sasha's name to any organization working to end traffic violence.
